Born on January 9, 1960 in Bilca, university professor Dr. Tiberiu Brăilean was one of the most renowned economists at the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iași.

A Doctor in Economics with various training stages in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, or France, the esteemed professor was one of the most beloved faculty members at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, where he also concluded his career.

In memoriam..

Professor Tiberiu Brăilean passed away on March 9, 2015.

Vasile Ișan, the rector of “Al. I. Cuza” University, stated: "It is a great loss for us as a university because Tiberiu was an intellectual of great stature and depth, with very good experience."

And in memoriam, he explained: "He wrote with talent, vigor, and style. Attached to what we might call, with an outdated formula, poetic knowledge, the thought beyond rational thinking, he dressed the discussed themes in his own interpretation. He almost always found inspired terms to characterize economic thinkers and their theories or the social phenomena and processes studied. His articles, essays, studies, and books sometimes puzzled, because as we are accustomed to descriptions and explanations strictly framed in scholastic causal relationships, we rarely seek meanings that touch on the novel and the beautiful."

The academic expressed regret that from now on we will miss "his sometimes playful and ironic reflections, other times profound, composed and explicit, but almost always in search of a field of completeness."
